Health assessments in general practice are a cornerstone of preventative healthcare, offering a proactive approach to identifying potential health issues and promoting overall well-being. These assessments, often conducted by practice nurses under the guidance of a GP, involve a thorough evaluation of a patient's health, including their medical history, lifestyle factors, and physical condition. They can help detect early signs of chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers, where intervention can be more effective. These assessments are supported by Medicare and are bulk billed.
-
A chronic disease management plan, facilitated by your GP helps with long-term health conditions to organise your care by outlining health needs, sets goals, and details the services provided by the GP and other healthcare professionals. These plans are supported by Medicare and are bulk billed.
-
Workers Compensation The responsibility of paying for the consultation fee lies with the patient and it is expected to be paid at the time of the consultation. The patient can then claim the fee back from their insurer or employer.
